Red Ball is intended for youth aged 4-6 years where participants will utilize Red Balls (25% of the speed/bounce of standard yellow balls) on 36' Court:
-
Beginning: For those with little to no previous tennis experience. Students will learn the basics of the game, including forehands, backhands, and volleys. To move onto the next level, students should demonstrate good form during these strokes, switch between forehands/backhands comfortably, and hit balls without missing during basket feeds. Those who can consistently achieve a 5-shot rally with the coach will be recommended to move onto Red Advanced Beginning.
-
Advanced Beginning: For those who can consistently achieve a 10-shot rally with the coach. Students will learn serves and overheads in addition to improving upon previously learned skills. To move onto the next level, students should exhibit good form during their strokes, sustain short rallies with other students, and be consistent with changing pace and direction of their shots. Those who can consistently achieve a 15-shot rally with the coach will be recommended to move onto Orange Advanced Beginning.
